About the Game

Real Cars, Real Racing...

RACE 07 - The Official WTCC Game features the full FIA WTCC season of 2007 including all cars and tracks, as well as several new support classes and tracks from all over the world. The game also features the full WTCC season of 2006 which was included in the games predecessor RACE - The WTCC Game, released in 2006 on PC.

For the first time ever SimBin is also presenting single seater action with Formula cars. Race with the incredibly fast Formula 3000, Formula BMW and in addition also the Radical sports cars with the models SR3 and SR4.

To support these new race classes the player will be offered the choice between one- or two-race-format. The highly detailed damage system is also adapted to give the Formula cars the vulnerability they have in real life.

RACE 07 comes with a score of new tracks and added track variations including several new city tracks, alternate track layouts and reversed track option. Several new community oriented features, game modes and online functionalities will also be announced later.

All in all, RACE 07 features more than 300 cars in 9 different classes on 32 real life racing tracks and city circuits from all over the world.

Half Life 2: Episode 2 and Portal Debute

This week, Valve attended Digital Life, North America’s biggest consumer electronics and digital technology event. Our own Gabe Newell demoed never-before-seen content from Half-Life 2: Episode 2 and Portal on Dell’s newest high-performance gaming notebook, the XPS M1730, and debuted a new Orange Box ad coming soon to major TV networks—stay tuned. In and around the show, "Alyx" look-alikes invited folks to play Team Fortress 2 at Dell's mobile gaming bus, which will be stationed at the show through September 30 and on tour in the US—with TF2 riding "shotgun" through the holidays.

Next week, over 700 players from 75 countries (along with an expected 70,000 attendees) will gather in Seattle for the World Cyber Games, one of the world's most prominent professional gaming competitions. Ban violent Video games?

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - A federal judge ruled on Monday a California law to label violent video games and bar their sale to minors was unconstitutional, prompting Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to say he would appeal the ruling.

California passed a law in 2005 regulating video games with strong support from Schwarzenegger, the former star of many violent action films. Legislators argued violent video games could bring psychological harm and spark aggressive behavior in minors.
The Video Software Dealers Association and the Entertainment Software Association promptly sued to block the law, arguing their games were protected under the First Amendment's protection of free speech.

Judge Ronald Whyte, who had previously granted a preliminary injunction against the law, issued a permanent order that also cited conclusions from judges facing similar laws in other states.

"At this point, there has been no showing that violent video games as defined in the Act, in the absence of other violent media, cause injury to children," he wrote in his decision. "In addition, the evidence does not establish that video games, because of their interactive nature or otherwise, are any more harmful than violent television, movies, Internet sites or other speech-related exposures."

Bz Enhanced By Dx !

Battlezone Enhanced is my favorite game made better. "Bz" is a tank sim/First person shooter/command and conquer and strategy all in one. Many people who began playing it when it was released in 1998 are still playing it today. Activision had originally released the game with the thought of providing a game at which it's players can create their own material for the game such as maps, weapons, vehicles, and skins and share their custom files amongst eachother. They had provided a map editor that gave the Bz moder community their start and we were soon making our own customizations. To my knowledge this is the first time the idea of what's now popularly called making a "MOD" to a game was put into action. Some of the modifications require advanced programing knowledge.

Outcast Ally "Dx" has compiled many of the communities best modifications and added a lot of his own really cool features to Battlezone. Changing the game and calling it Battlezone Enhanced. Here are a few screen shots from BzE we took today as I finally got a chance to check out what he's been up to:
