Did the BZ II download and iso to cd. The cd copied BZ II program to hard drive. When I attempted to execute the crack, which the crack.exe was in the BZ II sub folder, it stated "unable to access bzone.exe" Any IDEAS???????????

Thanks v

Install the game and then run this patch.

old school,

I reinstalled the game and executed the patch; the following message appeared, "uhoh install didn't go over that well. I'd suggest you uninstall BZ2, remove all files from the directory you installed BZ2 into, and try again." I tried again and got the same message.........

This is another thing that I don't know why the bz community techie guys insist on installing it be a pain in the ass having the end-user make a crack CD when you don't need to! lol

I've had bzII (the directory, already patched) on a disk...all I do to install it is paste what's on the CD into a folder on my hard drive. Click the bzone.exe and play.

You don't need a disk to play or install this game!

I'd post this, too (as I did my bz1 package that works the same way) but I'm not going to waste my time and the space on this server uploading it if nobody's going to use it! As nobody's using my bz1 package. Which is probably the easiest to get running. I guess people falsely assume something about it, like it's going to screw up their current install. It doesn't!
You can install it anywhere...away from your current install. Or you can actually use it to fix your current install if it's messed up.

Gotta ask questions. 9 times out of 10 your assumptions are wrong. How ya gonna know if you don't ask?

Yes that will work fine, but were you able to add patches to it? If the game is not actually installed then the latest 1.3 patch wont recognize it and fail the install. Did you get it to work?

bz1.4 patch just works. It finds the game where ever it is on the hard drive and patches it. The bz2 patches that I have run..no, they don't find the installation right away, but they prompt you and ask you to manually locate it.

Installation instructions:
1. Copy contents to hard drive
2. Play
They're already patched.
No registry keys what-so-ever. They're not needed.
Ya'll techies can argue all you want I've been using this install method for years. lol

No need for all the write this to a cd and delete that, edit this, move them, make sure of this, run that, install this, patch it,
and then hope.

It just works.

Try it already!!! lol

The render is set up for an NVIDEA card. That'll be the only problem people have with getting it to run which is a very simple edit to correct.

When I was helping Natty and Commando with G66 I was using a patched version of this install method, so yeah..other patches work on bz2 also.

Boycott reg keys! :P

I know it works for bz 1, I was talking about bz2 since I have not tried it since I have the disk so I was not sure if it would work without it actually being installed so the patch knows the game is actually installed.

Webb. lol
Don't need any of that I've been trying to tell you all - for years!
Do I have to hit you all with a rock to the head or what???

Try it, Loki. Write the contents of your bzII folder onto a disk. Copy that disk to anywhere else on your hard drive. The bz2 patches won't find it right away (true) but they prompt you to locate bzone.exe. When you tell the patch where your install is it works.

I repeat: All I do to install these games is copy an old installation I wrote to a disk onto my hard drive, and play! I don't have to run a patch. They're already patched.
bz2 doesn't need the CD for anything after it's installed.
bz1, I've been using Daemon Tools to play single player and strat.
Neither of them need registry keys for anything.

The patches find them (yes, Loki - the answer is yes for both 1&2), no need an installation disk, or a CD crack to run these games. Those 'make your CD crack' steps are extra pain in the ass steps that you peeps have been doing to....umm???
Torture yourself?

try it!!!!!!!!!!!!! You'll see.

ok I believe you LOL thing is I dont play 1.2 so I have no use for it. 1.3 does not require the CD anyway so once you run the patch it doesnt matter anymore.

Right. That's where I got this disk from. I wrote the directory to a cd after I patched to 1.3. I'm having problems now tho :( LOL
I tried installing something Commando is working on (bz7something) and the install didn't work.
And now my disk doesn't work so I can't get back to 1.3 LMFAO!!
The pak files fail when I try to copy them to the hard drive.

I wish they left the mag cannons alone instead of turning them into that crappy random ball crap.
